Ute upgrades to improve response times

The Heathcote State Emergency Service (SES) has upgraded its twin-cab ute to improve response times and potentially save lives thanks to a Fosterville Gold Mine Community Grant.

Deputy Controller of Operations Peter Duncan said new state-of-the-art shelving installed in the rescue vehicle's canopy, would enable faster and easier access to crucial rescue gear.

“When you're racing against the clock in emergencies, every second counts. It could literally be a lifesaver."

This is the second community grant that Heathcote SES has been successful in getting in as many years.

“The services that organisations such as the Heathcote SES offer when unexpected disasters strike, are essential to helping our local communities recover from these events, and we are proud to support them,” said Trudi Jackson, Senior Community Advisor at Fosterville Gold Mine.
