Second round of Community Grants for 2022 announced!

The second round of Fosterville Gold Mine (FGM) Community Grants for 2022 were handed over by Lance Faulkner, FGM General Manager at the mine on Friday, 11 November.

At the handover ceremony, Lance said: “Being able to present these grants is definitely a highlight of my job here at the mine as I get to meet the inspiring people behind the many community-focused organisations in our region.”

FGM is committed to having a positive impact on the communities in which we operate, and these 11 projects were selected as they aligned with FGM’s core social responsibility pillars.

“The Community Grants Program Committee, selected these projects as they will have a positive impact on the ongoing social, sustainable and educational wellbeing of the community,” explains Trudi Jackson, FGM Senior Community Advisor.

Congratulations to the following successful applicants:

1. Rochester Basketball Association

To support the purchase of collapsible outdoor wagons to help our volunteers to transport all the equipment needed during competitions.

2. Victorian SES Heathcote Unit

To help with the purchase of six modern, rechargeable battery-powered LED light towers to replace the 240v lights and older battery lights. This lighting is lightweight and will be used as mobile lighting in emergencies.

3. Bendigo LEGO Users Group

To support the success of the group’s mosaic Lego build at the next Bendigo Easter Festival.

4. Eppalock Primary School

To assist with the purchase of a free-standing STEM wall that will be used indoors, especially during wet-day timetables and outdoors for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math explorations.

5. Eaglehawk Community House

To assist in the purchase of a new commercial fridge for their kitchen to continue to support the Eaglehawk community.

6. Bendigo Camera Club

To enable the club to replace its outdated projector with a new high-quality version, which will allow members and visitors to see high-quality images.

7. Golden Square Primary School

To enable the purchase and installation of AFL goalposts and padding that is age appropriate for primary-aged children.

8. Goornong Recreation Reserve

To replace the sand soft fall with accredited playground pine bark soft fall, which will ensure the children and families using the play space have a reduction in abrasions and injuries.

9. Elmore Football Netball Club

To improve the current canteen and cooking equipment. This is essential for the club to raise funding throughout the season and for other Elmore community groups that use their facilities.

10. Bendigo Steam & Oil Preservation Group

To help cover the cost of plastering the club’s kitchen.

11. Dingee Bowls Club

To enable the purchase of a new fridge for the club kitchen.
