New footy jumpers to kick off the season

Bendigo’s most inclusive sports club, the Bendigo Suns, recently celebrated the start of a new footy season with brand new footy jumpers thanks to being awarded a Community Grant from Fosterville Gold Mine.

The Bendigo Suns are part of a structured Australian football competition provided by the Football Integration Development Association (FIDA). FIDA teams play games fortnightly throughout the AFL season. With teams throughout Victoria, FIDA Clubs are open to everyone between the ages of 14–40 with an intellectual disability and aims to foster inclusion, fun, fitness and friendship.

This year, the Suns are proudly fielding two teams instead of the one, which is a testament to the great work and camaraderie that comes with being part of this unique club.

After two years of not being able to play much due to the pandemic, all the team members are looking forward to the season.

Fosterville Gold Mine is pleased to have been able to support the Bendigo Suns with their new jumpers and we wish them all the best with a fun and successful footy season.
