Fosterville Gold Mine is proud to be one of the sponsors of the Ross McKenzie Fellowship Programme at the upcoming Australian Sheep and Wool Show, the largest exhibition of its kind worldwide. The event will take place from July 14th to 16th, 2023, at Bendigo’s Prince of Wales Showground.
The show, a tradition since 1999, attracts over 5,000 farmers annually, showcasing the best of 28 different breeds of sheep, goats, and alpacas. It also features up to 400 trade sites, offering everything from the finest woollen clothing to large machinery. Attendees can enjoy shearing and dog trial competitions, as well as the Festival of Lamb marquee, with cooking and carving masterclasses and the chance to sample Australia's premium lamb.
The Ross McKenzie Fellowship Programme, an integral part of the show for over 20 years, caters to about 150 secondary school students. It offers insights into various topics, including agronomy, animal health, and the export market for prime lambs. The session runs on Friday morning and includes a morning tea for the students. FGM will be present in the Careers area and will also set up a display in the Exhibition Centre foyer.
