La Trobe University students dive deep into FGM's IT Operations

Fosterville Gold Mine recently welcomed undergraduate and postgraduate students from La Trobe University’s Department of Computer Science and Information Technology. The students were given an exclusive tour of our state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and digital transformation strategy.

Our dedicated IT team, Alan and Rob, gave the students an insightful overview of our IT applications and how they are utilised in our mining operations. The students witnessed firsthand the integration between technology and mining and the vital role that IT plays in our overall business operations.

The students also toured our mine control room, the remote operations centre, the Ellesmere Lookout, and the BIOX processing plant. The mining team, including Kade, Pat, and Ash, were on hand to provide the students with valuable insights into the inner workings of our mining processes.

At Fosterville Gold Mine, we always welcome opportunities to share our knowledge and expertise with the next generation of innovators. We were thrilled to be able to contribute to the learning experience of the La Trobe University students and provide them with a unique insight into the cutting-edge technologies at work in our industry. We extend our gratitude and appreciation to the La Trobe University students for allowing us to share our exciting work with them.
