Kicking goals for our youth

Have you heard of the Youth Take Over Loddon Campaspe?

It is a three year partnership between the North Central Local Learning & Employment Network (NCLLEN) and the Agnico Eagle Australia Community Partnership Program, that has been kicking some serious goals for our region’s youth!

Launched during COVID, the Youth Take Over program aims empower young people to make meaningful contributions within their communities, while also learning valuable teamwork, communication, and commitment skills through group-based work experience and several successful projects have already been completed with various organisations across the region.

Most recently, two Agnico Eagle representatives - John Landmark, Agnico Eagle Australia’s Vice President Corporate Affairs; and Tim Birthisel, Agnico Eagle Australia Consultant - were pleased to attend the launch of a partnership with the North Central Catchment Management Authority (NCCMA), where Youth Take Over will assist the NCCMA with their Bio Blitz program - a series of events spotlighting five species that depend on the healthy ecosystem of the Gunbower Forest floodplain.

The NCLLEN employed a group of aspiring environmental science interns to support the NCCMA with the Bio Blitz, which among other things puts a spotlight on frogs, showcasing their vital role in our environment.

FGM believe it is important to provide young people with opportunities to develop their skills, and Youth Take Over Loddon Campaspe delivers an excellent platform to achieve this goal. We are proud to stand with Agnico Eagle Australia to support community engagement initiatives geared towards nurturing tomorrow's leaders.
