Fosterville Gold Mine was proud to be the main sponsor of CatholicCare Victoria’s inaugural Homelessness Action Now Art Exhibition, helping bring an important new event to Bendigo during Homelessness Week.

Held at Dudley House, the week-long exhibition featured 73 artworks created by people with lived experience of homelessness and others connected to the issue.

More than 270 people came through the doors, creating opportunities for conversation, connection and a greater understanding of the experiences behind homelessness.

“It was very moving to be there, not only to view the artwork but to hear the stories behind each piece,” said Deanne Fernie, FGM Community Advisor. “The exhibition created an important opportunity for those stories to be shared and for the wider community to better understand the experiences behind them.”

Nine artworks were also sold during the exhibition, with proceeds going directly to the artists.

As the first exhibition of its kind in the Loddon region, the event provided an important platform for people to share their experiences through art, while encouraging the wider community to listen, learn and connect.

FGM was pleased to support an initiative creating meaningful conversations around an important community issue.
