JUNE 2023
On 20 June 2023, we welcomed Jett, Josh, Oliver and Charlie who joined the FGM team as apprentices. All of them will be doing their apprenticeships as Diesel Fitters, except Charlie who is joining the Electrical team.
Last week they attended the site with their parents, as part of a new initiative to alleviate any concerns that families might have about what these young people will be doing and who they will be working with as they transition from school into the working world.
“The idea to invite parents to the mine to meet the staff that their sons and daughters will work with, is designed to give parents the opportunity to see the working environment and also ask any questions they may have,” explains Felicity Davy, FGM Human Resources Officer.
On the day parents were given a site overview by General Manager, Lance Faulkner and met the Mine Maintenance Superintendent. There were also taken on a tour of the site.
If you're interested in doing an apprenticeship at Fosterville Gold Mine we accept resumes for entry-level roles, which can provide a pathway to a successful career in the industry.
Entry-level roles may include positions such as nippers, truck operators, process operators, or apprentices in various trades such as electrical or mechanical. These roles often require minimal previous experience, and the company will provide the necessary training to get you up to speed.
We encourage you to submit your application and resume for consideration of entry-level positions as they become available.
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and provide equal opportunities for everyone to succeed.
