On Monday 21 August at 9.56 am Fosterville Gold Mine registered a 1.9 ML mine induced seismic event.
The location of the event was approximately 1.2 km below the surface and 112 m east of the underground mine workings.
Mine induced seismicity is a common phenomenon experienced across the underground mining industry and is caused by the redistribution of rock stress underground.
