Epsom Primary School was crowned the winner of the 2024 Healthy School Award last Friday night at the Bendigo Sports Star Awards Gala! Sponsored by Fosterville Gold Mine, this award recognises schools that go above and beyond to promote health, sustainability, and well-being within their communities.

Epsom Primary stood out for its innovative efforts, including the creation of "The Green Nest" – a sustainability hub where students engage in gardening, composting, and caring for chooks. This hands-on space teaches kids essential skills like growing food and reducing waste. Their sustainable canteen uses fresh produce straight from their garden to prepare healthy meals, ensuring students are nourished with delicious, locally-sourced options.

The Fit for Life program is another highlight, encouraging students to start their day with physical activity, promoting movement, fitness, and fun. Through these efforts, Epsom Primary has created a thriving, inclusive environment that puts health and sustainability at its heart.
