Ground Vibration Monitoring

Fosterville Gold Mine maintains an extensive ground vibration monitoring network which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This network is managed by a third-party consultant, the Institute of Mine Seismology (IMS).

Ground vibration monitoring reports for all mine-induced seismic events of Magnitude 2.0Mw and above are available for download below. These reports provide transparent, detailed information to keep neighbouring residents informed about ground vibration activity related to our mining operations.

Notifications

Mine Induced Seismic Event Notifications

As part of the Good Neighbour Guide Fosterville Gold Mine provides an SMS notification service, that notifies registered recipients when a Mine Induced Seismic event with a Moment Magnitude (Mw) of 2.0 Mw or greater is recorded by FGM’s underground seismic monitoring system.
