Anyone who lives in the Bendigo region will have noticed that the events calendar is always jam-packed in March to make the most of the mild Autumn days. Of course this year was no exception, with every weekend crammed full of festivals and community events.

For our Community and Environment team, this made for a very busy month with Fosterville Gold Mine sponsoring and participating in no less than six major events.

• Bendigo Ford Fun Run - We sponsored the 10km run for the second year and had a team of staff who took part on Sunday 3 March.
  
• Bendigo International Madison – We were gold sponsors of this event – the largest outdoor Madison event in the world – held at Tom Flood Sports Centre on 9-10 March.
• The Bendigo Pride Festival - We were platinum sponsors for the third year running and had a fabulous day out at the Festival’s Pride in the Park event held on Saturday 16 March.
• Eaglehawk Dahlia and Arts Festival - We were a festival sponsor for the second year running.
• Axedale Quick Shear & Family Fun Day - We continued our support as the major sponsor for the third year running and joined in on all the action with an engaging information stand at the event.

And last, but definitely not least …

• The Bendigo Easter Festival - For the third consecutive year, we proudly served as the main sponsor at the festivities and had a huge presence in Rosalind Park. Our gold panning activity and ‘That’s Gold’ competition were crowd highlights and a major drawcard. We also loved taking part in the procession and gala parade where our gold mirror bunnies got lots of laughs and high fives from excited spectators along the route.

Phew! That was a busy month, but we had a great time and feel privileged to have been part of all these events. We love interacting with organising committees, chatting to community members and sharing more about what we do and how we are working to make a positive contribution to the communities within which we operate.
